This is a book I have written with Olindo Zanotti for Oxford University Press. It containts a good part of what you may want to learn about relativistic hydrodynamics, from the mathematical foundations, over to the numerical methods and the astrophysical applications. A list of typos and the corresponding corrections can be found here. Essentially all of them have been fixed in the paperback version published in August 2018. Endorsements and more information can be found here or by clicking on the cover, while you will find some sample material here. Detailed reviews have been published recently on scientific journals, e.g. by N. Stergioulas for Classical and Quantum Gravity, J. M. Stewart for Contemporary Physics, T. Kellermann for Physik Journal (in German), D. Giulini for General Relativity and Gravitation, and I. Abonyi for Zentralblatt Math. The book is available also from Amazon where it seems to have received a decent response from the readers in the USA, India and Italy.

At the end of 2020 I have published a public-outreach book in Italian, “The irresistible attraction of gravity”, which attempts to explain what is gravity and why we are so deeply attracted by it. It explains that gravity is the only interaction for which we have a direct and conscient awareness that manifests itself already when we are newborn in terms of an instinct. The book covers all aspects of the interpretation of gravity as a manifestation of spacetime curvature and is meant for a general audience and will soon appear also in German and English. More details can be found here. |

A German translation has become available as of October 2021 with the title “Die unwiderstehliche Anziehung der Schwerkraft” and is published by C. H. Beck |

An English translation will become available at the beginning of 2023 with the title “The irresistible attraction of gravity” and is published by Cambridge University Press. Additional versions in Dutch, Greek, Turkish, Uzbek, and Chinese will soon be published. |

The book has since been traslanted also to Dutch, Greek, Turkish and Chinese. Translations to Japanese, Spanish, and Uzbek are under way. |
I have also edited and contributed to a number of different books collecting articles in numerical relativity and relativistic astrophysics:
