Content: Einstein’s equation, linearised theory of general relativity, geometric approach to gravitational waves, fieldtheoretical approach to gravitational waves, generation of gravitational waves in linearised theory, applications (binary systems, rotating bodies, free fall into a black hole), experimental detection of gravitational waves
