This presentation deals with recent developments in the field of short scale modified black holes. As a start I motivate the existance of a minimal length of about the Planck length. According to this line of reasoning a family of BH geometries due to the generalized uncertainty principle (GUP) and the gravity self-complete paradigm are introduced. I show that the proposed geometries can be derived by a non-local deformation of the Einstein-Hilbert action and are compatible with the large spatial extradimension scenario. Comments about astrophysical signatures, macroquantumness and black hole imaging are offered at the end of the talk.
