Electrical conductivity of a warm neutron star crust in magnetic fields

The electrical conductivity of finite-temperature crust of a warm compact star has been studied in our recent work. We are interested in the conductivity of the material which may be formed in the aftermath of a supernova explosion, binary neutron star merger or when a cold neutron star is heated by accretion of material from a companion. The key objective was to extend the previous results beyond the degenerate regime. A minimum in the conductivity of the matter was found at around one third of Fermi energy.
