Neutrino-driven turbulent convection in stalled supernova cores

In this talk I will discuss the crucial role of turbulence in core-collapse supernovae. I will start with an overview of the importance of multi-dimensional effects in the delayed neutrino heating explosion mechanism. I will then discuss the ways in which turbulence can aid, or hinder, the revival of a stalled accretion shock. Finally I will present some recent simulations and results on neutrino-driven turbulent convection.
